Exceeding bus fare returned   

Checking has been intensified in various road sections of Saptari after public complaints about transport entrepreneurs fleecing them during the Dashain festival. Most people returning to Kathmandu are being charged transport fare that is higher than fixed by the transport authorities.    

Meat shop monitored   

A joint market monitoring team has found four meat shops in Nepalgunj market operating without registration at the concerned authorities. The team monitored eight shops on Thursday.

Chief of Belauri Land Revenue Office, Kanchanpur, Bhoj Bahadur Aidi has been arrested.  According to the Area Police Office, Belauri, Aidi was arrested after a local woman accused Aidi of raping her.

  Woman dies in road accident   

A woman died in an accident nearby China Gate at Hetauda sub-metropolis-1 this morning.      The deceased has been identified as Sita Neupane, 35, of Hetauda-1, confirmed the District Police Office Makawanpur. Pillion rider Neupane died on the spot when an oil-laden tanker (Na 8 Kha 3872) heading to Hetauda Bazaar from Hetauda-11 hit the motorbike (Na 56 Pa 4935) en route to the same direction.

A man-eater leopard that mostly attacked children at various wards of Bhanu municipality has been trapped this morning. The leopard is known to have attacked children at ward number 2, 3 and 4 of the municipality on different dates before this.

  Social awareness necessary to fight child marriage: CM Raut   

 State 2 chief minister Lalbabu Raut has said public awareness was vital to end child marriage as only laws and policies were not enough to control it.       In his address to a state-level discussion against child marriage in Janakpur on Wednesday, the chief minister said," We have laws , acts and policies against child marriage since years, but still it continues to exist in the society and social awareness and efficiency building of daughters are necessary to stop it."

Rabid dogs bite over 50 in a day  

Rabid dogs bit over 50 people in different parts of Mohattari district on Tuesday.      According to Mahottari's Superintendent of Police Shyam Krishna Adhikari, over 50 people have been injured in Manara Sishwa municipality, Ekdara rural municipality and Jaleshwor municipality after being bitten by rabid dogs.
