International Rafting Competition to be held in Bhote Koshi river  

The 18th Himalayan White Water Challenge-2019, an international rafting competition, is to be organized in the Bhote Koshi river in Sindhupalchok district from November 26 to 28. The Challenge includes rafting and kayaking competitions.

Sukute road mishap; still five injured under treatment  

Five among the injured of the bus accident that occurred at Chautara Sangachokgadhi municipality-9, Sukute on Sunday are still undergoing treatment at hospitals.      As many as 49 passengers among the injured had received treatment at Dhulikhel and Banepa. Four out of 47 injured who were undergoing treatment at community hospital in Dhulikhel were sent to Kathmandu for further treatment on Sunday while 41 of them had returned home following treatment, police informed.

Falebas-Armadi section of Kaligandaki corridor in limbo 

The construction of Falebas-Armadi road section along the Kaligandaki Corridor – which is considered a lifeline of the district has been in limbo since long.     If things went as planned, the track of the road should have been opened two years ago. With this, the task of blacktopping is also likely to get prolonged.

Four persons embezzling cooperative money remanded in custody  

The District Court has remanded four persons of Nepalgunj-based Cooperative Financial Development Organization Limited in custody for allegedly embezzling Rs 430 million.     A single bench of District Court Banke justice Dhaniswor Poudel on Sunday issued an order to send cooperative's chief manager Gopal Bhandari, assistant chief manager Gangadhar Subedi, banking manager Arun Kumar Pathak and sub-assistant Balaram Yadav to custody.

Sixty percent of the construction of Midhill Highway in the western sector has been over. The roadway stretching 700km from Baglung to Jhulaghat of Baitadi has been over, according to the project.         

One dead, 36 hurt in bus accident   

One person was killed and 36 others were injured in a bus accident occurred at Doti early this morning. The deceased has been identified as Naya Serala, 51, of Bahrabise of Budhiganga municipality-6, Bajura.    

15-bed hospital comes into operation  

A 15-bed hospital has come into operation at the Banglachuli rural municipality of Dang. The hospital service began on Friday from the Kavre health post located at Kamirechaur, the service centre of the rural municipality.    

Well-equipped rescue centre along Annapurna trekking trail 

Supported by Korean telecom, the project located in the main entrance to the base camp of Machhapuchchhre Mountain aims to deal with trekking problems, said Sheshkanta Poudel, chief administrative officer of Annapurna rural municipality, Kaski. The project cost approximately Rs 150 million.    

Identity of man who jumps into Narayani still unknown   

 The identity of a man of around 30 years of age who had allegedly jumped into the Narayani River on the day of Laxmi Puja few days ago is yet to be ascertained, the District Police Office, Chitwan said.     According to eye witnesses, he jumped into the river at around 4:00 pm on October 27 carrying a child of nearly 10 years of age.
