Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal is struggling without enough beds to cater to increasing numbers of patients. Most of the beds are flooded with patients with dengue and viral fever. The situation has worsened so much that patients are being treated on the floor or a single bed is shared by up to three patients.

One killed in road accident

Unidentified group cuts down 600 banana trees in Hetauda farm

For commercial banana farming, Bal had planted 750 banana trees in more than 13 katthas of land some five months ago. He had brought banana plants from Jeetpur, Parsa. 62 people infected with dengue in Rupandehi

Dengue patients have been given priority, said Bipin Chhetri, section officer at Lumbini state hospital. No concrete initiatives have been taken so far in launching awareness campaigns and controlling dengue despite the disease taking its toll, complained the local people. Minister Khanal had his health checked up on Tuesday evening at Nidan hospital as he suffered from high fever and headache. The hospital had referred him to Sukra Raj Tropical and Infectious Disease hospital suspecting that the Minister may have been infected with dengue fever, and the hospital had on Wednesday evening confirmed that the minister had dengue fever.
