Jomsom-Korala road to be closed  

The Jomsom-Korola road of Mustang under the Kaligandaki Corridor Road Project is to be closed for three days. The road is being shut for three days starting November 21 in order to expand the road section from Samar to Jho river.

Last touches put on Geophysics survey of Ramgram Stupa area

Geo-physics survey has been completed with the involvement of British geophysicists at Ramgram Stupa premises in western Nawalparasi. Two arrested with a pistol 

The Chitwan police have arrested two persons along with an automatic pistol and five bullets from Hardi of Rapti municipality-6 in Chitwan district.     A patrolling team from the Area Police Office, Bhandara apprehended Madhukar KC of Tulasipur municipality-12 in Dang and Narayan Budhathoki of Rim rural municipality in Salyan district during a security check.    

State Assembly directs ministry to expedite key projects  

Physical Infrastructure Development Committee under the State-5 Assembly has directed the concerned ministry to implement key projects as a multi-year initiative.     The meeting held on the presence of Minister for Infrastructure Development on Wednesday Baijanath Chaudhary directed four division chiefs of the ministry to do so. 

130 species of migratory birds arrives in Nepal

According to Dr. Hem Sagar Baral, an ornithologist, 150 species of birds have already arrived in Nepal considering their arriving trend this season.

Gamblers arrested along with Rs 360,000 cash

Nepal Police has arrested 10 gamblers from Nagarjun and confiscated Rs 360,000 from them.     A team from the Metropolitan Police Circle Swoyambhu apprehended them on Tuesday night while they were playing a game of dice at Ichangunarayan of Nagarjun Municipality-3.  

French backpacker found dead in hotel room  

A French national who had come to trek around the Sagarmatha area has died.     Police identified the backpacker as 72-year-old Armoud Hibach who had reached Khumbu area on November 5. He was found dead in his room at National Park Hotel at Lubuche of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu rural municipality-4.  

Ward chair arrested

Chief of Area Police Office, Sukhad, Police Inspector Harisharan Bhatta said that ward chair Haujali was arrested after the victim woman filed complaint against Haujali at the Area Police Office, Sukhad, saying Haujali thrashed her.

Pillion rider killed in road mishap  

A pillion rider died on the spot in a road mishap at Janagal of Banepa municipality-10 of Kavrepalanchowk this morning.     The deceased has been identified as Bimal Kutuju, 20, student of Bageshwori College at Chyamasing of Bhaktapur municipality-9, said police. 

State-2 government to bring bill providing for own intelligence service 

The State-2 government is to introduce a bill designed to have its own separate intelligence bureau.     Talking to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), the National News Agency on Monday, the State-2 government's minister of state for internal affairs and law, Saroj Singh Kushwaha said that the bill is being brought in exercise of the rights provided by the constitution.    

66% people die of non-communicable diseases in Nepal  

Sixty-six per cent of the people in Nepal die from non-communicable diseases. The same figure for the world is 71 per cent.     Lack of sound sleep, negative thinking, lack of healthy and balanced food and increasing rate of smoking and alcohol consumption have been attributed to the high number of deaths caused by non-communicable diseases, State-3 government's ministry of social development, health directorate said.

The Moon Virtue Culture Media Company of China is to make a documentary and film on the Buddha. The documentary and film would be based on oil painting related to a story of the Buddha's life.

Two die in separate accidents 

Two persons died in separate accidents in district headquarters, Jaleswor, on Sunday. According to Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) at District Police Office, Mahottari, Madhav Prasad Budhathoki, a tractor knocked down an elderly on Sunday morning and a tipper ran over a child in the evening.
