Maternity service shuts in absence of doctors 

Maternity service has shut down in Sankhuwasabha District Hospital after doctors from Nick Simone, an organization, stayed on leave.      According to the hospital administration, all the doctors of the organization have stayed on leave at once.    

One killed amidst dispute   

A person has been killed after he was hit by bullet fired by police citing he breached the curfew order imposed in Krishnanagar area here following dispute etween the locals over disposing of an idol used for Laxmi Puja.    

Eighty per cent work completed in eastern sector of Madan Bhandari highway  

Eighty per cent of the road from Chatara of Sunsari to Bhiman in Sindhuli has been constructed. This section of the road is the part of the Madan Bhandari highway that runs from Sunsari in the east to Kathmandu in the west via Udayapur and Hetauda.    

NCP recommends three candidates for Kaski-2

The Gandaki State Committee of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (CPN) has decided to recommend three candidates for Kaski Constituency-2 by-election.      The recommended are Biddya Bhattarai (spouse of the late tourism minster Rabindra Adhikary), Somnath Adhikari 'Pyasi' and Rajkaji Gurung 'Karan'. 

Hospital building lying idle   

  The hospital is turning to a sorry state of affairs owing to sheer ignorance on part of Shadananda municipality which was mandated with entire responsibility for operation and preservation of the hospital, said locals.     It may be noted that the hospital was built by Mahadev Khimti Pokhare Kalika Construction Service JV Kathmandu at the cost of Rs 24.51 million. The Indian government had granted the assistance for the construction of hospital building.

Three Nepali workers murdered in India 

Three Nepali migrant workers have been killed in Pithoragadh of India. Although they were reportedly murdered on October 25, information about this was received here only on Sunday.    

Twenty five gamblers held with Rs 26.7 million   

A police squad from the Metropolitan Police Circle Maharajgunj has arrested 25 gamblers and confiscated Rs 26.7 million stake money from them. They were arrested while gambling from the house of Bikram Gautam at Pipalmarga of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3 on Saturday night.    

Fire destroys property worth over Rs 10 million  

Property worth over Rs 10 million gutted in a fire that engulfed half a dozen shops nearby BP Chowk in Nepalgunj last night.          Superintendent of Police (SP) of Banke Bir Bahadur Wali informed that the fire engulfed Janata Sirak, Himalaya Furniture, Roshani Furniture, Book shop and fruit shop.

Committee formed to mobilize youths

Chief of Youth Mobilization and Consultation Branch of the Ministry, Krishna Prasad Basyal, said that the committee has been formed in order to identity the areas where the youths would be mobilized with the government's decision of celebrating this current fiscal year as Youth Mobilization Year.

Elected representative arrested for thrashing Dalit person  

An elected representative was anetted in Palpa for manhandling a Dalit person.      The arrestee is Chunna Bahadur Bista, ward member of Tinau rural municipality-6. According to Devraj Poudel, Police Inspector of District Police Office Palpa, ward member Bista had beaten Mohan Bir Nepali, 51, of Tinau rural municipality, Masyam.

NCP condemns attack by Chand-led group

Dipayal Silgadhi announces social security allowance for unmarried women   

The Dipayal Silgadhi municipality in Doti has decided to include unmarried single women above 50 in its social security scheme.      Municipality officiating administrative officer Bhojraj Sharma confirmed the local government's decision to provide social security allowance to those unmarried women above 50 and single, from coming November-December until alternative arrangements are made for them.
