One dies after being hit by a truck   

A man has died in a road accident that took place at Dasdhunga of Bharatpur metropolis-29 this morning. The deceased is a man of around 45 years old and his identity is not yet known, District Police Office, Chitwan said.

Biplav cadre arrested

Locals of Dhangadhi sub-metropolis-7 demanded the setup of ward office upholding the prior official decision.     As many as 324 locals on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Dhangadhi sub-metropolis Mayor Nripa Bahadur Wad demanding construction of the ward office in the eastern part of Shiva Primary School in keeping with the previous decision.  

Over 500 Saptari locals seeking national ID

The government has started the national identity card distribution in the district from July 1 and more than 5000 residents have registered their name for the identity card, Ishwora Shrestha, computer operator and the in-charge of the team, informed.

Guesthouse owner held for bribe attempt

An owner of a guesthouse has been arrested on the charge of attempting to bribe the police.     A squad from the Metropolitan Police Circle Maharajgunj apprehended Sommaya Rai, 40, the owner of Basundhara-based Aagaman Foodland and Guest House on the charge of seeking an unethical favour of police who reached the guesthouse for a raid.

In view of the State Assembly by-elections, police have tightened the screw on the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav'.     Police arrested Rana Bahadur Wali, 48, of Babai rural municipality-2, Twangkhola of Dang on Tuesday.

Export of medicinal herbs to India still on hold

The export of Nepali herbal (jadibuti), which has been put on hold for the past one year due to obstruction of Indian plant quarantine, has yet to resume.     Publishing a notice in the gazette on 1 October 2019, the Government of India had issued a new list of herbals to be imported from foreign countries.   

Education material support distributed to jailbirds  

Educational materials were distributed to inmates languishing at the district prison with support from Badimalika municipality in coordination with Samarjeet Battalion.     Organizing a programme at the prison premises on Sunday, the Samarjeet Battalion Thapathali Barrack handed educational materials, including copy, pen, marker and white board to the jailbirds.    

Chand-led group's cadre arrested

The Dang police on Saturday arrested a cadre of Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav) from Babai-5 in Dang district.     The arrestees have been identified as local resident Nim Bahadur Dangi, Babai rural municipality area in-charge of the group.
