Over 20 thousand vehicles fined for violating traffic rules in five months 

The District Traffic Police Office, Dang said over 20 thousand motor vehicles were fined for breaching traffic rules in the first five months of the current fiscal in the district. The office collected revenue of Rs 15.57 million from its action.

Puajakali dies following prolonged illness   

A 38-year-old female elephant named Pujakali who had been ill for long died this morning, the Chitwan National Park (CNP) said.     According to CNP chief conservation officer Narayan Rupakheti, Pujakali who gave birth to around half a dozen calves was brought up in the Sauraha Elephant Breeding Centre    

One killed in ambulance accident   

A person died in an ambulance accident at Bhokraha Narsingh rural municipality-5 in Sunsari on Monday.     The deceased has been identified as Chet Bahadur Bista, 50, of Chaudandigahdi-5, Udayapur, shared Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Binod Sharma.

Two killed in Nuwakot road mishap

Two persons died and six others were injured in a road accident occurred at Bidur Municipality-6 in Nuwakot district today. The vehicle (Ba 2 Ka 7910) heading from Multhala to Chainpur was carrying the workers of Nagarjun Construction Company, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police of Nuwakot Rajesh Thapa.  

Fishing banned in Thuligad river

The victim side had lodged a complaint at Area Police Office Bhalubhang on 2 January 2019 noting Samir Ali, 21, of Rapti rural municipality raped a 28-year-old disable woman.     The victim woman recounted that Ali raped her on 1 January while she was asleep at own home.

One killed in road accident in Chitwan 

A person succumbed to injuries when a bus overturned in a drain after knocking down a motorcycle in Chitwan district on Thursday night.     Injured in the incident, Suraj Poudel, 35, of Ratnanagar Municipality-10 in Chitwan district, was rushed to the Chitwan-based Old Medical College. He breathed his last during the treatment, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.    

Pesticide testing centre in operation in Chitwan 

Pesticide residue rapid testing lab has been brought into operation in Chitwan. The test of pesticide residue in vegetables and fruits brought to Metropolis Fruits and Vegetables Market at Bharatpur-2, Chhetrapur has begun since Tuesday.
