Four including two police personnel injured in attack  

Four people including two police personnel were injured when they were attacked with a weapon here Saturday evening.      The accused in the attack is Ram Bahadur BK, 20, from Nalgadh municipality-1, Jajarkot who is alleged of indiscriminately attacking Bhunamaya Thapa, 60, from Okhaldhunga and currently living at Kamal Binayak and Rajmati Jyakibanjar, 45, of Kamal Binayak, Bhaktapur municipality-10 with a traditional cutting tool (khurpa), leaving them injured . 

Daughter security becoming effective 

The daughter security programme is proving to become effective and fruitful. The initiative has been launched by the Kanka Sundari rural municipality.     As per the programme, the rural municipality opens a bank account in the name of every girl born in the rural municipality.

Stress on inclusion of science and technology in curriculum 

Vice-chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Sunil Babu Shrestha has emphasized on the need to include science and technology in the school curriculum. Speaking at the conclusion of a three-day science and technology and space workshop organised by the New English Boarding School here Saturday, he suggested the government to provide scientific equipment for students in the rural parts of the country.

Sixteen quake-damaged government offices rebuilt so far in Lalitpur   

Sixteen government offices damaged by the Gorkha earthquake on April 25 and a major aftershock on May 12, 2015 have been rebuilt so far in Lalitpur district.     The District Project Implementation Unit (Building) under the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA)'s Central Project Implementation Unit (Building) was given the responsibility of reconstructing 21 of the government office buildings damaged due to the earthquake.

Ronaldo elephant with tracking radio collar   

Tracking radio collar has been installed on the bodily part of Ronaldo elephant which has been rampaging local human settlement in Chitwan.     The tusker of Chitwan National Park was taken under control and its pointed teeth removed before installing satellite radio collar on its body.

The gifted carpet was specially made by Nepali craftsmen in Kathmandu at the instruction of President with a view to display it at the Qatari museum as an artistic creation of the Nepali handicraft industry, the Embassy of Nepal in Doha said.

Assistance for oxygen supply  

Bhimdutta municipality in Kanchanpur extended financial assistance of Rs 456,000 to Mahakali hospital for oxygen purchase.     Mayor Surendra Bista handed the assistance amount to the hospital for oxygen supply amidst a programme on Wednesday.

TU Service Commission receives over 12 thousand applications for 574 seats

On December 1 (2019), the TU Service Commission had announced vacancies for several 574 posts under the administration service, seeking to fill up the posts through open competition. As it said, it has received 12,233 applications for the demanded posts till the deadline that had ended on January 4.

Mugu left out of communications: Rara tourists in trouble 

With the disruption of all networks of Nepal Telecom, Mugu district has been left out of communications for four days. The radio link of telecom tower at Danphe Lek of Jumla conked out after heavy snowfall, resulting in disruption in communications.  

Accused youths of gang rape arrested in Siraha

It has been found that the youth raped a 19-year-old girl taking her to a room on the pretext charging her mobile phone. The incident came to light of locals when the girl cried loudly in the street following the rape.
