VNY-2020 marked from Siddha cave   

The Visit Nepal Year-2020 has marked its beginning from Siddha cave at Bhimad municipality-9, Dhandhur in Tanahun.     Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has enlisted the cave as one of the 100 new tourism destinations.

Police constable arrested with bribe   

A team of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Bardibas, has arrested a police constable with bribe money this morning.     The team arrested police constable Raj Kumar Yadav, posted at Area Police Office, Sukhipur of Siraha district, with Rs 5,000 bribe. Yadav had asked for bribe from local, saying he would help bring goods from Indian market, Ladaniya.

Narayangarh-Mugling road resumes operation

Traffic operation has resumed on the Narayangarh-Muglin road section after removal of debris brought out by dry landslide.     According to the information provided by District Police Office, Chitwan, the dry landslide occurred at Ichhakamana rural municipality-6, Tuin rivulet on Tuesday evening.   

Suffocation kills 8 Indian tourists in Daman resort

Eight Indian tourists died of suffocation at Panorama Resort at Thaha Municipality-4 in Makawanpur district.     Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office, Makawanpur, Yagya Prasad Bhattarai suspected that the Indian tourists might have died due to suffocation caused from the room heater last night.    

Tharu museum opens for visitors 

The Tharu Museum based in Bhalka of Shuklaphanta municipality-8 in Kanchanpur has been opened for tourists from home and abroad targeting the Visit Nepal Year 2020.          The museum has been set up in a traditional Tharu house built with the support of municipality ward office. Bhalka remains as the identical place of indigenous Tharu community.

Ward chair dies in motorbike accident

Chairperson of Agnisair Krishna Sabaran Rural Municiplaity-1, Saptari died in a motorbike accident last night.     Ward chair Sushil Kumar Chaudhary,.38, lost his life in the fatal accident, confirmed the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur.

Visit Nepal Year: one month, one programme 

In keeping with the possible spurt in the flow of tourists, hotel entrepreneurs of Baglung have put in place preparation to make their services tourist-friendly.     Under 'one month, one programme' campaign, Baglung Tourism Development Committee is planning to make on-site visit and study the hotels along lake side in Pokhara which are said to be successful in drawing tourists' attention.    

Three youths nabbed with narcotic drugs

Nepal Police have arrested three youths in possession of narcotic drugs. A police squad from Police Post Kachnari busted Baljeet Das, 20, of Laxmipurpatari rural municipality-5, Pathargadha and Indrajeet Sahani, 18, of Lahan municipality-23 from Bariyarpatti rural municipality-1, Badahari on Sunday.

Cyclist killed in road accident  

A cyclist died after being hit by a passenger bus in Manahari rural municipality-7. The incident took place on Saturday night when Bhim Raj Syangtan,40, was hit by a passenger bus (Na. 7 Kha. 3844) coming from the opposite direction.

Adverse weather affects domestic flights at TIA
