Karnali Festival to begin from March 2

A four-day festival is going to be organised at Bulbule Garden of Birendranagar in Surkhet district from March 2. 

REBAN plans Valentine's Day food festival in Sauraha

All the preparations for the festival entitled '14th Sauraha Food Festival' have been completed. The Regional Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN) is organising the event which will have 40 food stalls. Besides, food stalls, exhibition of local and foreign cuisine, local art, culture and attire is part of the festival. The festival aims to promote the local tourism.

Dhulikhel hospital gets approval for post-mortem service

Dhulikhel community hospital has obtained approval for operating post-mortem service. Ministry of Health and Population has granted permission to the hospital for running the service on 15 January 2020. Shir memorial hospital has been rendering this service in Kavre.

One killed in road accident 

One person died and 13 others were injured when a tractor met with an accident at the Chakmake road section in ward no. 4 of Dudhauli municipality. Brahmalal Dhami,70, of Gichirani in ward no. 1 of the same municipality died in the incident that took place on Saturday, according to DSP at the District Police Office Shyam Bahadur Khatri.    

KMC grappling with extra challenge in managing waste 

Managing the city waste has posed extra challenge to Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) at present.     The challenge is because the long-term dumping site which is under construction at Bancharedanda has not been constructed yet and the Sisdol landfill site has also become full to its capacity.    

Three held with 11-kg hashish   

A joint team from Nepal Police Drug Control Bureau Section Office Bhimduttanagar and District Police Office on Thursday arrested maker Dhami, 38, and Gopal Dhami, 35, of Kedarasyu rural municipality-6, Bajhang and Jaya Bahadur Dhami, 23, of Bungal municipality-2, Bajhang.

Bus service from Bhimduttanagar to Haridwar   

Member of the House of Representatives Nar Bahadur Dhami inaugurated the bus service amidst a programme on Wednesday. The distance from Bhimduttanagar to Haridwar and Deheradun is around 350 kilometres. A bus with air conditioner will leave for the destination from Bhimduttanagar daily.

Murder accused ward chair arrested

Police on Tuesday arrested ward chairperson of Rajbiraj municipality-15, Ram Prasad Yadav, on the charge of his involvement in attempt to murder.     Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Saptari, Tilak Bharati, said that Yadav, who had been absconding, was charged of murdering a person and he was presented at the District Court.    

Resolution motion registered demanding return of encroached land 

A resolution motion has been registered at the secretariat of Sudurpaschim State Assembly on Tuesday calling for return of India-encroached Nepali territory Kalapani.     The resolution motion proposed by State Assembly member from main opposition Nepali Congress Karna Bahadur Malla and seconded by assembly member duo, Bharat Bahadur Khadka and Tek Bahadur Raika, was registered at the secretariat, informed secretary at the state assembly secretariat Ram Singh Dhami.

Ward chair found dead  

Ward chair of Panchadeval Binayak municipality-2 in Achham, Padam Bahadur Dhami, has been found dead. His lifeless body was retrieved in a cowshed this morning. The incident site is 30 minutes' walk from the Binayak Bazaar.
