Tulsipur, Dec 25 : The District Traffic Police Office, Dang said over 20 thousand motor vehicles were fined for breaching traffic rules in the first five months of the current fiscal in the district. The office collected revenue of Rs 15.57 million from its action.
Motorcyclists make up the largest section in the list of violators whose number stood at 7,660 followed by 3,677 trucks; 2,735 buses; 2,615 jeeps; 1,927 tractors, and 1,686 three wheelers, said Office Chief Prem Prasad Regmi.
They faced penalty for drunk-driving, not wearing the seat belt, overtaking, violation of lane discipline, keeping passengers on the hood and so on.
During the last fiscal year (2075-76 BS), 34,510 vehicles had faced music for violating the traffic rules and the revenue collection was calculated at Rs 11.3 million.
