Kathmandu, Apr. 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of Nepali New Year 2079 BS.
In her message on the occasion today, President Bhandari has wished for peace, prosperity, good health and progress for all the Nepalis. Bhandari spoke of the need to learn from the tough experiences of the past and move ahead accordingly.
The President also called for promoting entrepreneurship and production of domestic products to decrease the yearly soaring trade imbalance as well as to create a self-reliant economy through the national capital.
She was of the view that policies and programmes aimed at creating jobs and opportunities to engage the staggering number of youths of Nepal aspiring for foreign employment should be implemented at the earliest.
The Head of the State also appealed to the three-tier government to be active in realizing sustainable development goals.
Stating that the upcoming Nepali year is going to be the year of the election, President Bhandari argued that it was our common responsibility to conduct the May 13's local level election in a free, impartial and fearless environment.
"May the upcoming New Year 2079 BS inspire to create civilized, well-cultured and just society while filling all the Nepalis with zest and zeal," the message stated
