Kathmandu, Dec 25 : The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is having a hard time handing over the 70 among the 215 helpless persons it recently rescued from streets to their respective families.    
Among the rescued ones, 129 men, 14 women, one girl and a boy were sent back to their houses after providing them psycho-social counselling while remaining 70 are not providing real factual information about their families. As a result, the KMC has been finding it difficult to rehabilitate them with their families.    
Ramji Adhikari, Chairperson of Manav Sewa Ashram, a shelter, shared, "Those remaining of the rescued ones do not give the right address of their houses fearing that they would be sent back to their homes."    
Adhikari added, "The rescued ones conceal information about themselves and are reluctant to tell the truths owing to their own personal reasons causing more difficulty for the shelter and the KMC to reconnect them with their families."    
The KMC, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, had launched the rescue drive from December 15-18.    
Those helpless persons were found sleeping on the roadside mostly around Kalimati, New Road, Indrachowk and Bouddha among other places at night.    
The rescued ones were mostly male and from Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchowk, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan and aged between 16-40 years, according to the Ashram.
