Kathmandu, Nov 22: Sarlahi Police on Friday arrested a cadre of the banned outfit led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav for his alleged involvement in arson at excavators in Sarlahi.
Police arrested Pawan Mahato, 30 of Hariban Municipality-30 of Sarlahi for his involvement in the incident. He was arrested from Sindhuli Bazar, said Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Gopal Chandra Bhattarai.
Eight months ago, cadres of Chand-led party torched an excavator which was parked near the Bagmati River of Sarlahi.
Following a tip-off, police had been able to arrest Mahato, said ASP Bhattari.
Prior to this, the police had already arrested Rajan Basnet on his alleged involvement in the incident. The court has sent Basnet to imprisonment, said Sarlahi Police.
ASP Bhattarai added that the police had been searching three others involved in the incident.
