Kathmandu, Oct. 24: The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress was put off on Thursday.
The meeting is scheduled for October 31, informed NC spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma.
The NC had scheduled CWC meeting for Thursday to pick candidates for the upcoming by election of the House of Representative, Provincial Assembly and Local levels. Other agenda were the general convention of its sister organizations.
The meeting was put off at the 11th hour after the arrival of central leaders at the party office to attend the meeting.
Sharma said the meeting was put off citing that the District Committee of the party had recommended names of more than three candidates for the by election, and the party central committee had no time to finalise the names from the long list.
The District Committee of NC can send names of three candidates for the elections.
“Now we will draw attention of the lower committee and hold our meeting,” he said.
