Muglin, Sept 8 : A goat sale and purchase centre has been established in Icchyakamana rural municipality of Chitan.
The Chandibhanjyang women entrepreneurs cooperatives limited based in ward no.6 has established the centre at Kalikhola near Mugling.
This is the first time that such a centre has been established and is expected to benefit the farmers. Inaugurating the centre on Saturday, Chair of the rural municipality Geeta Kumari Gurung said quality agro products will not have a problem of market. She also shared that the rural municipality was providing grants to the farmers involved in goat farming.
The centre was established at the cost of Rs. 550,000 with support from various organisations, according to Chair of Women Entrepreneurs Cooperatives Limited Rashmi Gurung.
This centre is expected to help the farmers access the market and also get a fair price for their goats.
Meanwhile, on the inaugural day, 61 goats were sold leading to transaction worth 900,000 rupees.
The cost of goat was between 450 to 500 rupees per kilo as per the actual weight of the live goats. (RSS)
