Jaleshwor, Oct 2 : Rabid dogs bit over 50 people in different parts of Mohattari district on Tuesday.
According to Mahottari's Superintendent of Police Shyam Krishna Adhikari, over 50 people have been injured in Manara Sishwa municipality, Ekdara rural municipality and Jaleshwor municipality after being bitten by rabid dogs.
They are referred to the Janakpur Hospital after primary treatment at the District Hospital, Jaleshwor. As he said, the District Hospital was found running out of a stock of anti-rabies vaccines and the injured were referred to the Janakpur Hospital. Among the injured, 20 are from Manara Sishwa.
The District Police Office, Mahottari has already sent police squads to respond the situation.
