Youth returned home from quarantine dies this morning

According to Municipality Mayor Upendra Bahadur Thapa, the youth was sent home after his lab test for COVID-19 was found negative on Wednesday.    

Nisarga cyclone's impact: Rainfall forecast throughout country

Three of a family die from burns due to gas leakage, two undergoing treatment

Yogendra Timalsina, Police Inspector at Area police Office, Banepa, informed that Anisha Shah Thakuri, 14, died on Tuesday while Aayusha Shah Thakuri, 16, and Sushil Thakuri, 26, breathed their last this afternoon. Family members of Ratna Kumar Thakuri, a permanent resident of Temal Rural Municipality-7 who has been living in the vegetable market area, had suffered from burn injuries due to the leakage of the cooking gas.

Lockdown: artificial shortage of daily essentials leads to soaring market price   

Consumers have complained of price hike of daily essentials such as rice, pulse, flour and edible oil when the nationwide lockdown against coronavirus has been in force since March 24.    

     Hospitalisation only for those requiring oxygen and ventilator support: Health Minister 

Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has said the cases of COVID-19 have already exceeded 2,000 in the country. So, only those infected ones requiring oxygen and ventilator support will be admitted to hospitals.

Poor management of quarantine spreading infection, causing death

The youth could not get minimum of treatment and see his families. Crisis and tragedy have blanketed at the same time over the bereaved family- a son, a daughter and wife. The deceased wife complained that her husband died as he did not get any medicine and treatment while staying in the quarantine. The deceased father said his son died as he was forced to lodge in the cold room without any medicine.

74 people test COVID-19 positive in Rautahat, district's tally hits 307

21 persons from Rajpur Municipality, 18 from Rajdevi, 14 from Durga Bhagwati RM, 13 from Gaur, four from Paroha, three from Yamunamai RM and one from Gadhimai Municipality tested positive for the virus, informed Bashu Dev Ghimire, Chief District Officer of Rautahat.

29 test positive for COVID-19 in Surkhet, Salyan and Achham

As many as 29 people tested positive for the virus in RT-PCR test done at two laboratories of Surkhet today morning, informed the ministry by issuing a press statement.

Nepal is likely to see an influence of another Cyclone predicted to be developed from the southeast Arabian Sea by wee hours tomorrow. The low pressure system based in the Arabian Sea is moving towards the north.

10 persons including an ambulance driver test positive for COVID-19 in Achham

A 27-year old female and seven men aged 22, 24, 27, 29, 30 and 40 of Kuskot tested positive for the virus, said Dev Joshi, Information Officer of Achham Health Office. Likewise, a 23-year old ambulance driver of Mangalsen Municipality and 32-year old of Chaurpati Rural Municipality-2 were identified with COVID-19 infection in PCR test done at Dhangadhi and Surkhet respectively.

10 new COVID-19 cases detected in Syangja and Parbat, Gandaki State's tally hits 37

The Gandaki State has confirmed 10 new cases of COVID-19. Five persons each from Syangja and Parbat were found to be infected with COVID-19, taking State's case load to 37.

75 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Karnali state

As many as 75 persons have tested COVID-19 positive until today at 11 AM. The COVID-19 tally of Karnali state has reached 198, informed the State Ministry of Social Development, by issuing a press statement.  

Lack of isolation wards hits hard COVID-19 risk management in Mahottari   

  Mahottari district has come across a short of isolation wards to deal with increasing number of COVID-19 infected people. Jaleshwor district hospital has possessed a 15-bed isolation ward to deal with 28 infected people admitted to the hospital. Among the infected people, 19 had tested positive for the virus through PCR and nine through RDT. 

Weather expected to gradually improve from tomorrow  

The weather is expected to improve gradually from Tuesday, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.     Rainfall is taking place in most places of the country, including in Kathmandu Valley, due to the influence of the Westerly wind and the low-pressure front that had formed near the eastern region. 

MoHP confirms eighth COVID-19 death case

Dr Bikash Devkota, spokesperson of the ministry, said on Sunday that a 2-year old girl of Bajura district who breathed her last today morning was found to be COVID-19 positive.
