By Lalit Basnet, Surkhet, June 2: The Karnali State Ministry of Social Development has confirmed 29 new cases of COVID-19 in Surkhet and Salyan today.
As many as 29 people tested positive for the virus in RT-PCR test done at two laboratories of Surkhet today morning, informed the ministry by issuing a press statement.
With this, the COVID-19 tally of Karnali State has reached 262.
Dr Laxmi Narayan Tiwari, chief of Health Service Division of the ministry said that among 29 new patients, 11 were from Birendranagar Municipality-1 and 3, Surkhet and nine were from Salyan.
The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Surkhet and Salyan has reached 61 and 53 respectively.
Meanwhile, as many as 10 have tested positive for COVID-19 in Achham today.
A 27-year old female and seven men aged 22, 24, 27, 29, 30 and 40 of Kuskot tested positive for the virus, informed Dev Joshi, Information Officer of Achham Health Office.
Likewise, a 23-year old ambulance driver of Mangalsen Municipality and 32-year old of Chaurpati Rural Municipality-2 were identified with COVID-19 infection in PCR test done at Dhangadhi and Surkhet respectively.
