By Lalit Basnet, Shurkhet, Jun. 1: The number of COVID-19 cases has been increasing in Karnali State of late. The caseload has increased to 198 from May 18 to Jun 1.
The RT-PCR test is being done in three places, including Surkhet State Hospital and Karnali Academy of Health Sciences, Jumla.
As many as 75 persons have tested COVID-19 positive until today at 11 AM. The COVID-19 tally of Karnali state has reached 198, informed the State Ministry of Social Development, by issuing a press statement.
According to Dr Laxmi Narayan Tiwari, Chief of Health Service Division of the Ministry, 41 people were detected with COVID-19 infection in Dailekh itself.
Likewise, eight persons of Hima Rural Municipality, Jumla, nine of Sinja Municipality, 10 of Salyan and five of Surkhet were identified with COVID-19 infection, the ministry informed.
With this, the virus has also spread in Jumla district.
According to the ministry, total 198 people have tested positive for the virus until now, out of which, 89 are from Dailekh, 35 from Salyan, 34 from Surkhet, 19 from Jumla, 18 from Kalikot, two each from Bajhang and Bajura and one is from Mugu.
The State has also observed one COVID-19 death case.
