74 people test COVID-19 positive in Rautahat, district's tally hits 307

By Krishna Tiwari, Rautahat, June 2: 74 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Rautahat in the last 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 tally of Rautahat district alone has reached 307.

COVID-19 infection was confirmed 74 people from Rajpur, Paroha, Rajdevi, Gaur, Gadhimai municipalities and Durkha Bhagwati and Yamunamai Ruram Municipality, in RT-PCR test done at National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), Kathmandu.  

21 persons from Rajpur Municipality, 18 from Rajdevi, 14 from Durga Bhagwati RM, 13 from Gaur, four from Paroha, three from Yamunamai RM and one from Gadhimai Municipality tested positive for the virus, informed Bashu Dev Ghimire, Chief District Officer of Rautahat.

All of the newly identified COVID-19 patients had entered Nepal recently from India and they were placed in quarantine right after entering Nepal.

Currently, 8,059 people including 324 female and 7,735 male are staying in quarantine set up by various local levels of the districts.

1,187 people have been sent home after testing negative for the virus, informed Ram Naresh Sah, an official of District Administration Office.
