Jambu and Bhotekoshi flood: Two deceased identified   

Two people who had gone missing in the incident of flooding caused by the Thadokhola rivulet at Jambu, Khagdal and Bulkote last night have been found dead. The flood was triggered by continuous rainfall since last night.

  COVID-19: 17 new cases spotted in State No. 1  

A total of 17 new cases of coronavirus infection spotted in State 1 on Wednesday.     The Social Development Ministry of the State said that Jhapa has seven new cases while three in Morang, two in Sunsari, two each in Taplejung and Ilam, and one in Tehrathum districts. With this, the total number of infected persons in State 1 reached 702.  

Two dead, 18 persons missing in Bahrabise flooding 

The heavy rain and flooding occurred since last night has claimed two lives at Jambu in Bahrabise Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district. Officials said that and 18 individuals are missing in the landslides.

Drivers' negligence blamed for higher rates of road accidents in Valley   

The Kathmandu Valley reported over 9,000 cases of road accidents in the current fiscal year.     According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD), the figure till the end of the fiscal year 2076-77 BS was at 9,461 and negligence on the part of drivers is to primarily blame for most of the cases.    

   64 held for not wearing face mask  

Police here have arrested 64 persons for not wearing face mask. They were walking carefree though the government had strictly ruled everyone to compulsorily wear masks while walking outside home. The circular was made in the wake of the growing coronavirus cases across the country.

The risk of flood and landslide is high this Thursday through Saturday, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.     It said the monsoon would become more active in the country from Thursday night heightening flood and landslide risk as the monsoon low pressure system is close by the Tarai region.
