Lamjung, July 7 : Vehicular movement on the Besisahar-Chame road has come to halt following landslide occurred at Khudi of Marsyangdi rural municipality-3 in the wee hours today.
The sole link road to mountainous district Manang from Lamjung has been obstructed since 1:00 am today as the landslide hit the route from above the hill, covering it up to 20-25 metres, said Road Division Office Damauli's sub-engineer Suman Adhikari,
''Though efforts to clear off the landslide depositions are going on with the help of an excavator, the landslide continues to take place, bringing down big rocks. We are not certain about the reopening of the route, but hope that it will be possible by 1-2:00 pm today,'' Adhikari said.
Vehicles are stranded on the midway due to the road obstruction. The continuous rainfall poses a high risk of landslides anywhere along the route at anytime. The 65-km route is disrupted by landslide time and again during monsoon.
