4.1-magnitude earthquake hits Kavrepalanchok

An earthquake of measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale occurred at 10:05 this morning with its epicenter around Sisakhani of Kavrepalanchok district, according to National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center. 

Forest fire continues unabated in Okhaldhunga   

A forest fire started at Chishankhugadhi area in Okhaldhunga district is not brought under control yet though the fire destroyed hundreds of hectares of community and private forests in the past three days. Division Forest Office Chief Gyan Kumar Lama said that they were assessing the damages caused by the forest fire.    

56 yrs old man lands in jail for raping granddaughter

The District Court, Udayapur, has sent a 56-year-old man to jail for raping his eight-year-old granddaughter. The District Court on Wednesday gave life imprisonment to the rape convict.    

Visitors to Koshi Tappu increase

According to the Reserve Office, the number of domestic tourists visiting elephant safaris has increased in West Kushaha. As there is only one elephant reserve in Province 1, the number of tourists has increased since the fall in COVID-19 cases, said the Conservation Officer of the reserve, Ashok Ram.

Army man dies in paragliding accident

Urlabari Hospital suffers from staff shortage

They had also decided to upgrade the then Mangalbare Hospital into a changed 50-bed Madan Bhandari Hospital and Trauma Centre. Eight hurt in IED blast at revenue office in Siraha

Eight people were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off all of a sudden at Revenue Office in Lahan of Siraha district. Among the injured, condition of two is said to be critical. Office employee Shiva Kumar Yadav, 38, and paralegal person Bhola Pachemagar,78, are among those hit by IED shrapnel in the explosion that took place at around 1:00 pm in the first floor of the office building.
