Storm, light rain predicted  

The hilly region of the county has been predicted with light rain with storm and thunder as the region witnesses partly to general weather change coming evening.    

Youth found dead 

A youth has been found dead in the Chaulani river. Ramesh Karki, 35, a resident of Sejali in Lekam rural municipality of Darchula district was found dead.   

Man arrested with illegally held weapons  

A man has been arrested in possession of arms and ammunition held illegally from Raptisonari rural municipality of Banke district. Rishiram Tharu,68, was arrested from Jabarpur in ward no. 5 of the rural municipality on Saturday. 

Twenty metric tonnes waste managed from Pashupati area

The waste that had accumulated at the Pashupati area in course of the Mahashivaratri festival has been managed.     In this connection, 20 metric tonnes waste was managed from the Hansamandap site under the 409th week of Bagmati River cleaning mega campaign.

COVID-19 update: 60 new cases, 72 recoveries in 24 hours

KMC launches Nepal Bhasa curriculum for class 1 to 4

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has launched a basic level local curriculum 'Yeh Dey Mhasike' that includes some theories and practical learning for class 1 to 4. The book was jointly launched by Education, Science and Technology Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha, and Mayor of the KMC Bidya Sundar Shakya, at a program organized by the KMC Education Department.

Wind power plant left useless

A wind-power plant constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.6 million at Harredanda in Barahatal Rural Municipality-3, Surkhet, has been left useless two years after its construction. Solar and dynamo of the wind power plant were damaged by lighting in July 2019. No attention was given for the maintenance of the power plant as the locals got divided according to their political parties.

Over half a dozen hydel projects under construction in Darchula

Construction of various hydropower projects in Darchula district has speeded up. These projects with investment of private sector aim to general 100 megawatts electricity from the district itself within two years. Approximately half a dozen hydropower projects are under construction while some have started producing power.

Four persons have been arrested with 2.5 kilograms of uranium from Bauddha, Kathmandu. The Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, made public them through a press conference today.

Chudal and Subedi recommended for appointment as Supreme Court justice

Today's meeting of the Judicial Council has recommended the name of Dr Kumar Chudal and Nahakul Subedi to the post of justice of Supreme Court. The meeting held under chairmanship of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana decided to recommend Dr Chudal, working at High-Court, Patan, and Subedi, working at High Court, Surkhet, for the same.   

Pashupatinath temple to open as usual   

The Pashupatinath temple will now be opened from 5am to 7pm daily for paying of homage.  The temple would open as per the time it used to be kept open before the imposition of the nationwide lockdown on March 14 last year in a bid to prevent coronavirus pandemic, Executive Director of the Pashupati area development Trust (PADT) Dr Ghanashyam Khatiwada said.
