By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahun, Mar. 17: A 103-year-old elderly of Tanahun received the vaccine against COVID-19.
Khambasingh Gurung of Sheratar, Shuklagandaki Municipality-7 got the jab at the ward health center on Wednesday, informed Shankar Babu Adhikari, chief of Tanahun Health Office.
Gurung was inoculated at Primary Health Service Center located in Shanti Nagar. A transportation facility was arranged for Gurung to reach the health center.
"Now that I have received the vaccine, I am confident that I will now be safe from the novel coronavirus," said Gurung after being vaccinated.
He added that he was very happy with the government for prioritising the senior citizens in its COVID-19 vaccination drive.
Likewise, the health office informed that the vaccination campaign for senior citizens above 65 years of age, who are at high risk of COVID-19, had concluded from Monday.
The last jab was given to Gurung. Chief Adhikari informed that 7,164 senior citizens were inoculated in the second phase of the government's vaccination drive.
