Gokarneshwor Municipality feeding 750 destitute workers daily  

The Gokarneshwor Municipality in the north-east of Kathmandu district has been providing free meals to 750 economically vulnerable workers daily.

Medical drug stores shut down  

The Nepal Drug Entrepreneurs Association, Parsa chapter has shut down all medical drug stores in the district, in protest against the alleged police torture against the chapter chair. The NDEA Parsa Chair Tajuddin Ansari was mistreated and his motorcycle seized by police as he had gone to purchase vegetables on Saturday.  

Two children suspected of being drowned 

Two children have gone missing as they were swimming in the Teliya river in Hamarjung in Chathar rural municipality-2. They are suspected to have drowned in the incident that took place on Saturday afternoon.  

Belahiya checkpoint calm after lockdown

Relief materials distributed to 76 households in Manang   

Relief materials have been distributed to the locals of Nisyang rural municipality in the district.     According to rural municipality chair Kanchha Ghale, 76 households were provided relief package so that they would not suffer from food shortage during the ongoing lockdown.    

COVID-19 Prevention and Treatment Fund has over Rs 2.7 billion so far 

The COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment Fund has Rs 2 billion 74 million 638 thousand 980 so far. The Fund was set up by the government to fight against coronavirus pandemic. An amount of Rs 25 million 827 thousand 194 has been deposited in the Fund on Friday.

Rhino found dead in CNP 

A rhinoceros has been found dead at Chisapani area inside the Chitwan National Park here on Wednesday. The male rhino was found dead in a swamp at the core area of the Park.

People from the Musahar community face numerous challenges for livelihood. Food stock is hardly sufficient to feed the family members. They are not able to even afford fuel from market to cook food, but wait desperately for spring season to collect fodder for fuel throughout the year.
