Dolakha, April 17 : The District Police Office here has used locally manufactured man catcher as personal protection equipment (PPE) in the wake of coronavirus menace. The police started using it as they were not getting any advanced tools for their protection while discharging duty.
Police adopted locally developed technology after people were found violating lockdown and roaming unnecessarily around the city in Charikot.
According to assistant such inspector of police Mahesh Acharya, they ordered such tools at a local grill industry and started using it to catch the lockdown violators.
It has lessened the possible direct contact with persons while arresting them, he said. It may be noted that the grill industry is providing such tools free of cost.
