Two dozen houses in Tanahun villages at risk of landslide 

Around two dozen houses at Byas municipality-1 and 3 have been at risk due to landslides caused by rains on Thursday and Friday. Lack of drainage at the settlements has added to the loss, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Lila Raj Lamichhane.

   Driver's help dies in bus accident 

A person died in a bus accident occurred at Patu of Bardibas municipality, Mahottari, today.     Driver's help Baburam Bishwokarma was killed on the spot. The bus (Ba 3 Kha 4036) was heading to Udayapur from Kathmandu by rescuing the stranded people in the lockdown.  

Five years of post-quake reconstruction and 20 thousand houses remain to be rebuilt   

Dhading district is among the 31 districts hardest hit by the devastating earthquake that rattled the country on April 25, 2015. Five years have passed since the disaster and the beginning of the post-quake reconstruction campaign. However, more than 20,000 private houses in the district remain to be rebuilt.

The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has fined the Katuwal Stores at Imadol Rs 200 thousand for selling salt to consumers for higher price than the declared price.   

   Around 8,000 families get relief materials in Bardiya   

Relief materials have been distributed to around 8,000 households in Bardiya district. According to the District Administration Office, Bardiya, the relief materials were distributed to 7,965 families till today.    

Stranded workers rescued, reached home   

Workers stranded at various places due to ongoing lockdown were rescued and reached their homes from Kaski district.     Pokhara metropolitan city and other concerned bodies had coordinated to collect the list of stranded workers will to return homes and managed vehicles for the same.    

RDT for coronavirus carried out on 85 people on road 

Rapid diagnostic test (RDT) for coronavirus has been carried out on 85 people entering Kanchanpur from outside districts. The health desk at Gajaraula, Krishnapur municipality-6 carried out the test on these people on the road. All people have tested negative for COVID-19.    

Udaypur faces shortage of medical equipment to increase COVID-19 test  

There is a shortage of medical equipment to expand the coronavirus testing in Bhulke and Triyuga of Triyuga municipality-3 in Udaypur district. It may be noted that Bhulke and Triyuga reported the 24 cases of COVID-19, out of 41 cases confirmed so far across the country, portending the greater risk of the spread of virus there.

Lightning has claimed the life of a woman at Todke, Dudhilabhati of Galkot municipality-1 in Baglung district. The deceased is 60-year-old Bijuli Khatree.

Lightning kills two people, injures 7 in Dhading

The deceased are 24-year-old Sagar Aryal and 50-year-old Sanuman Tamang. They died when being taken to Kathmandu for treatment, the District Police Office Dhading said.

The Mahottari Police have launched a campaign of destroying the illegal liquor shops in the district after people started gathering at these places in spite of the lockdown.    

180 screened through RDT, one found positive in sealed area of Saptari

The RDT was carried out at three settlement areas near mosques of Saptakoshi Municipality of the district with suspicion of the spread of infection in the area as the COVID-19 patients detected in Udayapur were found to have visited these areas.

Wind destroys crops worth Rs 20 million in Makawanpur 

Wind coupled with hailstones that hit some rural areas of Makawanpur district since two days ago destroyed agro yields worth approximately Rs 20 million, according to the Agriculture Knowledge Centre, Hetauda.
