President Bhandari confers Hem Bahadur Malla Award on Dr Das

At the ceremony organized at the Office of President in Shital Niwas, President Bhandari feted 96-year-old Das in recognition of his unparalleled services and contributions to the medical and social sectors of the country. The Award, instituted by the Salt Trading Corporation in 2059 BS in the memory of its first General Manager Hem Bahadur Malla, carries a purse of Rs 200,000.

Death of chicken in bulk worries farmers

Death of chicken in bulk in the district has worried farmers. One thousand two hundred chickens died on Sunday and Monday alone incurring losses worth over Rs 450,000, said a poultry trader Binod Pokharel.

Narayangadh-Butwal section road will be expand to four lane except 12 KM that lies Daunne of Nawalparasi east and Nawalparasi West. A rickshaw puller died after a truck hit him at Nawalpur of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-11 early this morning. The dead one is Khemlal Shrestah, 36, from Hetauda Sub-Metropolis-11, according to District Police Office.

Schools in Manang affected by Covid-19 reopen after a year

Schools in the Manang district that were affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic have resumed after around one year.     With this, children who along with their parents left the district for outside including Kathmandu and Pokhara to escape the cold, have returned to attend classes.    

Man charged with murdering father arrested   

The police have made public a man arrested on charges of murdering his father amid a press conference on Tuesday in Kaski district.     Ram Krishna Kami of Annapurna Rural Municipality-3 in Kaski district has been charged with murdering his 58-year-old father Jum Bahadur. On 21 February, Ram Krishna hit Jum Bahadur with a wooden block resulting in his death over a family dispute, according to the police investigations.    

'HoR reinstated as decision against constitutional norms'

The Supreme Court has concluded that the decision of the Prime Minister to dissolve the House of Representatives was against the fundamental norms, values and standards of the Constitution. "The decision taken to dissolve the HoR lacks the certain pre-condition envisaged by the Constitution and is against the fundamental norms and values of the Constitution, hence the House of Representatives has to be reinstated," reads the verdict announced by the Constitutional Bench of the apex court today.
