Arjundhara municipality in lockdown   

The Arjundhara municipality has imposed a lockdown in the municipality to stop further spread of Corona Virus. The Saturday meeting of the COVID Crisis Management Committee decided to impose a five-day lockdown starting today.    

Girl injured in attack by cheetah  

A girl child was injured in an attack by a Cheetah at Samastipur in ward no. 1 of Anbukhaireni rural municipality. The incident took place on Saturday night, when 10-year-old Amisha Thapa was in the courtyard outside her home.    

Nepal Academy writing state history of Nepali poetry

Academician at Literature Department at Academy, Professor Dr Hemnath Poudel, shared the information that Academy had begun writing history of Nepali poetry at seven states.   

Four of a family buried to death

Those killed in the incident are Raju's 30-year-old wife Bina, his 10-year-old son Hemant, seven-year-old son Sagar and 10-months-old daughter Binita, according to ward no 5 chairperson Hari Prasad Gyawali. A huge rock along with landslide triggered by heavy rainfall fell on the house, burying those inside it.

Woman with COVID-19 gives birth to a baby while staying in isolation in Birgunj

The woman was admitted to the maternity ward of National Medical College after she felt labour pains on Thursday evening. Doctors from COVID Hospital had brought the woman to the COVID Hospital at midnight after learning that the infected woman had been admitted to the Medical College for delivery.

Landslide obstructs Prithvi highway   

The Prithvi highway has been obstructed due to landslide at Kurintar.     According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the road section at Kurintar has been disrupted after landslide took place at Ichchhakamana rural municipality-4 at 9:00 am today.   

Flood flows through human settlements; four went missing   

Normal life in Kailali has been affected due to incessant rain occurred since Tuesday evening.     The downpour has left the eastern belt of the district waterlogged. Hundreds of houses have been submerged and four people went missing in the floods occurred in different rivers of the districts following the rainfalls. .     Police informed four people went missing from different areas of Bhajani municipality in the district.    

Increasing water level in Karnali poses threat to human settlements 

Local residents have become fearful with the rise in water level in the rivers and rivulets following the incessant rainfall.     Some parts of the district are at high risk of floods and landslides so fear is looming large among the locals due to torrential rain.    

Local levels identifying areas of disaster risk   

Local levels in Tanahun district are planning to identify potential areas of risk stemming from monsoon rain-induced disaster.     It may be noted that this year only the floods and landslides had buried 13 to death in different parts of the district and the risk are still looming large in the area.

Health services resume in TUTH

Issuing a press statement here today, the Hospital administration has informed that the regular health services in the Hospital have continued. Hospital's executive director Prof Dr Rohit Kumar Pokharel, in the statement, said that the health services in the Hospital that was closed since March 19 has resumed from today.

First local COVID-19 death in state-1

The patient died at 4:45 pm today, said spokesperson of the BPKIHS Dr. Nidesh Sapkota. Sapkota said the deceased was referred to the BPKIHS from the COVID Hospital in Biratnagar and was on ventilator support in course of treatment.

Mother, daughter buried by landslide in Dang

Rafting begins in Jumla's Tila river 

Rafting has begun in Jumla's Tila river to promote the local tourism. The service is launched by the Go Karnali Travels and Tour.     Rafting known as one of the forms of adventurous water travel is available from Dansanghu of Chandannath municipality to Ranka of Tatopani rural municipality.

Construction of 132-KV capacity sub-station completes

One of the two power transformers installed at the sub-station and having capacity of 132/33 KV and 30 MVA respectively has been charged on no-load. Project chief Raman Raj Sharma informed electricity flown to Bharatpur from Hetauda through the 132-KV transmission line was successfully charged.    

42 persons including 3 children test positive for COVID-19 in Dhangadhi

Dilip Kumar Shrestha, information officer of the Provincial Hopsital, said, “42 out of total 134 swabs tested positive for COVID-19 in the testing that was conducted in the last 24 hours in Dhangadhi”. Meanwhile, 18 new cases including 3 women were confirmed for the virus infection in Godawari Municipality in Kailali district.
