National COVID-19 tally reaches 281 with two more cases in Dhanusha

Two men aged 20 and 65 of Dhanusha tested positive for the virus in PCR test done at National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), Kathmandu. With this, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 281, informed MoHP by issuing a press statement.

Barhabise Municipality under strict surveillance after death of COVID-19 suspect

The Barhabise Municipality has enforced lockdown more strictly following death of a 29-year old COVID-19 suspect of Barabise Municipality-9. Madhav Kafle, Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk said that additional police forces were deployed at the borders of Barabise Municipality.

Two army personnel test positive for COVID-19 in Mahottari

Bigyandev Pandey, Spokesperson of Nepali Army (NA) said that two army officials aged 52 and 26 of Mahottari and Kavre, deployed in Mahottari district had tested positive for the virus.

Journalist tests positive for COVID-19 in State-1

A journalist has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) in State-1. The infected has been admitted to the Biratnagar-based Koshi COVID Hospital. The health condition of the journalist is said to be normal.   

63 Nepalis die of COVID-19 in UK 

The number of Nepalis succumbing to COVID-19 has reached 63 in the United Kingdom till today.      According to London based Nepali Embassy Spokesperson, Sharad Raj Aran, of the deceased, 52 are male and 11 female.     Of them, 52 are Ex-Gurkha Army and 11 others.

Govt. to establish Labour Information Bank

According to Pyakurel, 687 Nepalis of 47 districts had entered Nepal from Jamunah border point until 11 PM on Wednesday. Likewise, 1,483 Indians were sent back to India.

NAC operating three chartered flights to Japan

The national flag-carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), is operating a chartered flight to Narita International Airport of Japan today. The flight would be made by NAC's A-330 wide-body plane. The plane will fly to Japan carrying some Japanese citizens stranded in Nepal due to the lockdown and the Nepali workers and students who had come home on holiday.

A 49-year old COVID-19 patient of Devchuli Municipality-12, East Nawalparasi had returned to Nepal from India two days ago. He had entered Nepal on May 12 from Kolkata, India via Raxaul border.
