Kathmandu, May 15: The government is set to present its policy and programme for the year 2020/21 in the joint session of Federal Parliament today afternoon at 4:00 PM. President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to unveil the document of government’s policy and programmes for the new fiscal year in the House.
Parliament Secretariat has invited only 29 high-ranking personalities of the country for the ceremony. Vice President, top leaders of different political parties, high-ranking government officials, chiefs of constitutional bodies, and chiefs of security bodies have been invited to attend the ceremony.
Roznath Pandey, secretary at the Parliament Secretariat, said that the government did not invite a lot of guests due to the risk of COVID-19 pandemic.
“Managing huge number of guests in the time of crisis is tough and we have limited seats in the House,” he mentioned the reason behind not inviting others to the House.
In previous years, heads of diplomatic missions, leaders of private sectors and media persons also used to attend the document unveiling ceremony.
