Army code-of-ethics weeklong orientation kicks off  

Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa has directed the entire army rank and file to keep army norms and values, conducts, patriotism, selfless service motivation and higher discipline.     Inaugurating a weeklong programme on code-of-ethics 2020 at Nepal Army Headquarters at Bhadrakali, Thapa said the code-of-ethics is a useful guideline for life between and beyond the service.    

Tansen-Butwal road obstructed 

The Tansen-Butwal road section has come to a grinding halt after the rain-triggered landslide disrupted the Siddhartha Highway.     With the fall of landslide on the highway, the Tansen-Butwal road stretch has been obstructed since early this morning. Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) of Palpa District Police Office, Madan Giri informed the highway traffic has been completely disrupted with the occurrence of landslide at Tansen-8, Gaundepool.    

Revenue Rs 1.6 billion collected from Tataopani Customs   

Revenue amounting to nearly Rs 1.6 billion has been collected from Nepal-China northern checkpoint, Tatopani Customs Office, in the fiscal year 2019/20.     As no annual target was set in regard to the collection of revenue from the office in the fiscal year, it was raised under the headings such as custom duty, value added tax, agriculture reform and road improvement tax, informed Tatopani Customs Chief chief Lal Bahadur Khatry.

Dozen of villages in Madhyabindu at high risk of inundation, erosion

A local Yogman Chaudhary said that more than five kattha of lands he owned was eroded by the River in this rainy season. Ward Chair Amar Mahato shared that over 100 bigha of land was damaged by the river with inundation and erosion, displacing hundreds of locals. 

FNJ protests anti-press activities

A press release issued by the FNJ reads, “The FNJ will launch stern agitation gathering at the office of Annapurna Post from coming Sunday if the transfer made with wrong intention is not withdrawn within three days and service and facilities along with cent percent salary is not provided as per the Working Journalist Act.”

   Two die, three go missing in Phulpingkatti landslide   

Those killed in the landslide are Nimasyangbo Sherpa, 34, and Anji Sherpa, 16, according to District Police Office. Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Kafle informed that search for the missing ones- Somsang Sherpa, 84; a woman of 42 years and Chhiring Sherpa, 12, was continuous.
