Janakpurdham, July 16: State-2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut has today handed over a cheque of Rs 500 thousand to the family of Birendra Kumar Gurmaita. Gurmaita had died at Jatahi transit point of Dhanusha district due to the lockdown.
Chief Minister Yadav visited late Yadav's house at Goth Koyalpur, Shahidnagar Municipality-9 and handed the cheque to Yadav's widow Sabita Yadav. On the occasion, CM Raut expressed condolences to the members of the bereaved family, stating that the State government has provided the ex-gratia support as per its capacity.
State Assembly member Ram Ashish Yadav and Chief Attorney Deependra Jha were also present. Birendra Yadav had died at the transit point on May 27 while returning home from India.
State police handed rescue materials
Meanwhile, State-2 government's Ministry for Internal Affairs and Law has provided disaster rescue materials to the State Police Office. The rescue materials include four boats, 32 helmets, 32 life jackets, four carrybags, handpump, 36 road paddles and eight ropes, among others.
