Lack of VTM kit delaying swab collection  

Lack of the Viral Transport Media or VTM kit used for collection of throat and nasal swab for PCR testing of Corona Virus has hampered the testing work in Mahottari. As a result, swab collection has come to a halt in the district, according to senior public health director of the Health Office, Mahottari Girendra Kumar Jha.    

COVID-19 infection rate drops in Sudurpaschim State

According to the State Health Directorate, a total of 327 were found infected on June 15 in each 9 districts of the State. The number reached 2,266 after two weeks and reached 3,753 after 10 days.

155 people killed, 52 missing in disasters in three months

NDRRMA chief executive officer Anil Pokharel said a total 249 people sustained injuries due to disasters. He added that works related to rescue, relief distribution, search for the missing persons and rehabilitation are going on at present.

Ashoka Pillar in Kapilvastu submerged

Ashoka, emperor of the Maurya Dynasty, reached the place during his visit to the birthplace of Shakyamuni Buddha in Rupandehi. Gotihawa is the birthplace of Karkuchanda Buddha prior to Siddhartha Gautam Buddha. Gotihawa, which dates back to 1770 years, is one of the three Ashoka Pillars in Nepal. The Pillar is in a dilapidated condition for lack of conservation.

Phulpingkatti landslide repeat increases fear   

Landslide has occurred two times at Phulpingkatti of Bhotekoshi rural municipality-4 last night.     A local, Buddhi Gurung, said the people in the area are in fear after the occurrence of multiple landslides on Thursday night. Two people were killed and three others from the same family had gone missing in the landslide occurred on Thursday.    

Tanahun developing into largest exporter of saplings in Gandaki state
