Water level rising in rivers: Narayani and Koshi cross danger level

Life in most parts of the country including in Kathmandu Valley has been affected due to the incessant rainfall since two days. Landslide and flood has taken pace in several places, blocking the highways.    

  IEDs detected in multiple locations in Dhangadhi  

Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) placed at different three locations in Dhangadhi have been deactivated by the Nepal Army (NA). It is to yet to be known who planted the pressure cooker bombs near the State's social development ministry, infrastructure development ministry and at the LN Chowk.    

Three from same family die in landslide 

Three persons were killed after a landslide buried their house at Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-6 in the district. Those losing lives are Milan Khand, 22, his spouse Samjhana, 20, and 18-month old baby, according to Information Officer of District Police Office, Rupak Khadka.         

  With over 200 landslips along Prithvi Highway, two days needed to resume traffic 

More than 200 landslides- big and small- occurred in the section of Muglin-Naubise along the Prithvi Highway with the incessant rainfall for some days. The road is completely damaged at the bridge over Mauwakhola stream linking Chitwan and Dhading.  

   State-1:Nepal Army rescues two from flooded river  

The flooded Maikhola divided into two branches by trapping a cowshed in between where there were two persons from Maijogmai Rural Municipality-5. Lok Bahadur Nembang, 65, and Jojo Limbu, 30, were brought to safety by the NA persons last night.

Red Cross provides relief materials to disaster-hit households  

Nepal Red Cross has intensified the distribution of relief materials to the households which have suffered most in the monsoon caused disasters.          As many as 225 families from 18 districts including Sindhupalchowk, Myagdi, Gulmi and Jajarkot which are worst hit in the landslide and floods have been provided full set of relief materials worth Rs 10,000. Hanumante river inundates Bhaktapur settlements

The flood in Hanumante river submerged settlements in ward no. 1, 3 and 4 in Bhaktapur district. The hospitals, schools and dozens of houses from Hanumanghat to Sallaghari areas were affected from the flooding, ward chair Ram Krishna Gora said.

Foreign investment worth Rs 39 billion pledged in last fiscal year

Majority of the FDI was committed by the Chinese firms. Firms from China pledged to invest Rs 25.57 billion for 174 industries followed by India standing at Rs 3.57 billion for 16 industries, informed Spokesperson Binod Kumar Khadka.
