The public transportation which was halted for about four months has formally come into operation from today. The public transport was halted owing a threat of COVID-19 outbreak for past four months.    

Unruly gang set ward office on fire  

An unidentified group last night set the office building of Shuklaphanta Municipality Ward No. 7 on fire. Administrative office, meeting hall and the office room of ward secretary have been damaged in the fire, it is said.    

Leopard census to begin in Bhanu   

The Division Forest Office, Tanahun, is preparing to count the number of leopards in Bhanu Municipality. As the cases of leopard attacks sharply rose in the recent times, the Office is working for the leopard census for the management of human-wildlife conflict.  

220 police personnel graduated from basic training 

A total of 220 police personnel were graduated from a year-long basic training in the Police Training Centre Gandaki, Pokhara. Of them, 160 passed with 'A' grade while 60 others with 'B' grade.     Chief of Gandaki State Police and Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police, Ghanshyam Aryal, offered insignia to those graduated police personnel here Wednesday.  

Five bodies found in two big rivers of Chitwan

Five bodies have been found in two big rivers of Chitwan district today. According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, four bodies were found in Narayani river and one in Rapti river. Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Thapa said that some bodies were found on the river bank while others were floating in the river.

Monsoon-induced disaster losses in State 2: three missing, 845 displaced

Sukumani Thing of Chandrapur municipality-3 in Rautahat was swept away by the local Chandi River on Tuesday. Similarly the Ratu River in Mohattari swept away Birendra Kapar, 35, of Bhangaha municipality-6 on Tuesday as he was trying to cross the river.

Man dies of apparent hunger

The deceased has been identified as Dalbir Sarki who was displaced by the landslide which had killed 11 people at the time. It is said the man was facing problem to manage food in his tent life. Ward secretary Dambar Pun said he was physically feeble in lack of proper food and accommodation. He died this morning. The local representative predicted the possibility of further human loss if the survivors continued to face scarcities for the most basics of essentials: food and accommodation.

Woman dead as landslide buries house in Syangja

The District Police Office (DPO) Syangja's Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad Adhikari confirmed the death of Maya Saru (Yam Kumari) of Simalsaura. Her daughter Narayani, 20, was rescued by the locals.
