Jajarkot, July 22: A survivor of the July 9 massive landslide at Barekot rural municipality-4 has reportedly died of hunger.
The deceased has been identified as Dalbir Sarki who was displaced by the landslide which had killed 11 people at the time. It is said the man was facing problem to manage food in his tent life. Ward secretary Dambar Pun said he was physically feeble in lack of proper food and accommodation. He died this morning. The local representative predicted the possibility of further human loss if the survivors continued to face scarcities for the most basics of essentials: food and accommodation.
It may be noted that acute food shortage is the persistent issue of Jajarkot, a remote hilly district in Karnali state.
