Prithvi Highway disrupted due to floods

Vehicular movement along the Pritvhi Highway has come to a standstill as the torrential rainfall occurring from Sunday night washed away an approach road to Mauwakhola bridge in Prithvi Highway at the bordering point of Chitwan and Dhading district.

Government to go for sero-survey of COVID-19 situation in community level

The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division is to launch 'sero prevalence survey' to find out the number of people affected by the pandemic.

   Landslide at Charkilo : whole day to clear road   

It would take whole day today to remove the landslide debris deposited on the road at charkilo along Narayangadh-Muglin road section. The landslide occurred this morning.     A huge landslide along with two electric poles has fallen at the place. The incident site lies 31.5 kilometers from Narayangadh. Chief at the Division Road Office, Engineer Krishna Raj Adhikari, said that the landslide has covered around 60 meters area.  

Bhimphedi-Kulekhani route disrupted 

Traffic on Bhimphedi-Kulekhani road section along the Madan Bhandari Highway has been suspended due to a landslide occurred near Gadhi of Bhimphedi rural municipality last night.     The highway remains as the shortest link road from Hetauda to Kathmandu. Incessant rain since yesterday triggered the landslide.    

One killed due to landslide in Kathmandu 

A person has died after he was buried by landslide at Gagalphedi, Kageshwori Manohara municipality-1 in Kathmandu on Sunday. Police identified the deceased as 22-year-old Nawaraj Gurung. The landslide took pace at Satghatte in Gagalphedi.   

Child dies falling into hole in Mahottarai   

A 14-year-old child has drowned to death in a water-filled ditch formed at a quarry at Bardibas-14 in Mahottari district on Sunday.     A local Ashutosh Mishra’s son Roshan Mishra died after falling into the hole in course of swimming. He had gone to bath with other two friends.  

Micro-hydel project construction comes to a final stage 

The Chhipkhola micro hydropower project, under construction at Sisne rural municiplaity-2 in Rukum (east), has come to a final phase of operation.     The 40-KW capacity hydro project is being constructed at the shared investment of the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), Sisne rural municipality and local infrastructure partnership programme.    

Incessant rain leaves government offices waterlogged   

Various government buildings along with dozens of private houses have been waterlogged in the district headquarters Malangwa due to rainfall continued since Sunday morning.     The incessant rain has left different parts of the district including its headquarters inundated. Local traders have said several areas including Bal Mandir, Nagarpalika Chowk and the Bus Park have remained waterlogged following continuous rain.   

Traffic along Narayangadh-Muglin road stretch disrupted again with landslide   

Traffic along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section has come to a halt after the landslide occurred at Charkilo this morning.     The vehicular movement was totally obstructed after the recurrent flow of landslides covered the road stretch since 5.00 am Monday. 

Nepal-Korea Hospital launches free COVID-19 test for cancer, heart patients

According to Mayor and Hospital Management Committee Chair Madan Sundar Shrestha, the PCR test is available for up to seven patients (recommended for urgent surgery) from the Cancer Hospital and 10 from the National Heart Center on a daily basis. The Hospital has agreed to produce the test report within the 24 hours so as to ensure prompt treatment to the patients.
