Dhading, July 21 : Three persons were killed after a landslide buried their house at Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-6 in the district. Those losing lives are Milan Khand, 22, his spouse Samjhana, 20, and 18-month old baby, according to Information Officer of District Police Office, Rupak Khadka.
A person involved in rescue, Hari BK, informed over telephone that the people in the neighbourhood reached the incident site for rescue but could not recover them alive as the disaster occurred in the night.
Five other houses have been posed to imminent risk with the landslide. They have been shifted to safe places.
No security persons have reached there yet. It is still raining there.
Search for missing ones continues
Chutara: The search for the people gone missing in the landslide and floods occurred at different places including Phulpingkatti of Sindhupalchowk has been continued.
The district disaster management committee has distributed the relief materials to the displaced ones and those losing family members in the disasters.
The households of those losing lives at Bahrabise Municipality and Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality have been provided Rs 100 thousand each. Similarly, those receiving damage in the houses got Rs 10,000.
In addition to the monetary support, the relief package included tarpaulin, blankets, kitchen utensils and clothes, according to Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal.
Six persons were killed in the landslides and floods occurred there while 22 are still missing.
40 households leave for safe places
Muglin: A house was driven away by the landslide at Bhoteshwor of Ichchhamanakamana Rural Municipality-5, Chitwan. A local Kamal BK lost the house to the disaster caused by the incessant landslide.
Similarly, forty households from Bandeltar, Madkeni and Bakser villages left the settlement owing to the landslides. They have been taking shelter at neigbouring Kitswara village and in a basic school building at Pamdanda, said teacher Yan Bahadur Gurung.
Sindhuli: Similarly, settlements on the bank of Sunkoshi River have been alerted of possible food and inundation in Sindhuli district.
