The jail building constructed about 160 years back during the Rana regime is situated at a low-lying area in the Jaleshwar Municipality-2 and faces inundation problem in rainy season each year.    

Two persons arrested for swindling woman   

Police here have arrested two persons on the charge of cheating one million rupees from a woman in the name of getting a loan of Rs 35 million approved from a bank for her.      According to District Police Office Doti's chief, SP Dilip Singh Deuba, a 35-year old Sanja Kumari Kathayat of Adarsha Rural Municipality-3 in the district and 32-year old Padam Raj Bhatt of Lekam Rural Municipality-1 of Darchula district were arrested on the charge.    

  Shuklagandaki municipality passes budget of Rs 1.10 billion for coming fiscal year 

The Shuklagandaki municipality has passed the budget of Rs 1.10 billion for the coming fiscal year 2020/21.     The seventh municipal assembly of the municipality passed the policy and programme and the budget. The budget for the coming fiscal year is increased by Rs 240 million compared to current fiscal year's budget, according to the municipality.

Landslide displaced people facing hunger in difficult situation   

More than 500 people who have been displaced from their homes due to the landslide in their settlement are now facing hunger. This situation has arisen after the food depot of the Food Management and Trade Company run out of stock of rice.   

Simkot faces blackout for couple of days

Traffic along the East-West highway and Siddhartha highway has been disrupted from Monday night due to landslide following incessant rainfall.     The East-West highway has been obstructed after landslide occurred at Daunne of Butwal-Narayanghat section due to landslide.    

Murderer held after 14 years of crime   

A murderer of sawmill owner has been arrested after 14 years of committing crime. Jaykishor Saha originally from Sarlahi district and the employee at sawmill had killed the couple running sawmill at Sitapaila, Kathmandu, and absconding after the crime.   

Nepali Congress provides relief materials to Bhotekoshi flood-hit people 

The Nepali Congress has provided relief materials to the 73 households of Bahrabise Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district which were worst hit by the recent landslide and flood. They were distributed foodstuffs on Sunday.    

Locust invasion again in Pyuthan  

The locust invasion has occurred again in the district. Swarms of locusts can be seen in almost all parts of the district.          The people in the district began scaring locusts by beating plate and tin to save the maize crops. However, the farmers are worried much after their attempts to scare vermin is not that effective.
