Efforts on to restore religious tourism   

The entrepreneurs of transport and tourist sector in Pokhara launched a three-day introduction visit since Monday in a bid to restore religious tourism. Gandaki chapter of Nepal Tourism Transport Entrepreneurs' Association came up with this scheme in the wake of Covid-19 menace that afflicted tourism industry.         

Transporters demand end to odd-even rule

Transport entrepreneurs and commuters are displeased with the current odd-even rule on the movement of vehicles and want the government to end it. Under the rule, only even numbered vehicles (the numbers being that of their licence plates) are allowed to ply the road on even dates and only odd numbered vehicles are allowed on odd days. This rule has been in place since September 10 but now, transport entrepreneurs are threatening to disobey it.

Ventilators at Udayapur district hospital remain useless  

While many hospitals across the country are crying for ventilators amidst numerous COVID-19 patients, two ventilators set up at the District Hospital, Udayapur have remained useless. Lack of technicians to operate the equipment is blamed for its uselessness.

Dowry system and flashy weddings continue to gain momentum in Province 2

67 % women with disabilities suffer violence  

A report by the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN) said that 67 per cent of the women with disabilities have become victim of violence or various sorts, but only 16 percent of them have reported the case to the concerned authorities.

HIV infected on the rise

The number of people infected with HIV/AIDS has been found to be increasing in Kanchanpur. People returning from various parts of India after work are reportedly coming back with the virus.    

School shut down with increased infection 

Schools in two local levels in the district have been shut down again, owing to the rising threat of spread of Corona Virus. Schools in Dasarath Chand municipality and Dilashaini rural municipality have been closed.

Home Ministry intensifies monitoring of subordinate agencies

The monitoring of the subordinate bodies showed that there was no effective result as per expectation, and it was due to Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry formed seven monitoring committees under the joint secretaries to look after each provinces in the country.
