Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC) has started demolishing the unauthorised walls and structures built by the locals around Phewa Lake. Bharat Poudel, the metropolitan’s information officer, informed that the unapproved structures built in Khaupadi were demolished. “The metropolis has the right to pull down any structures constructed without its permission,” Mayor Man Bahadur GC said.

It had remained shut down for around six months due to increasing coronavirus infections. According to organization Chair Deepak Kunwar, the new system was for minimizing the people’s crowds in the ticket counter and avoiding infection risk. "The introduction of technology is as per government’s direction.
