Embassy of Pakistan holds free medical camp

Nepali doctors and para-medical staff (who had graduated from various medical intuitions of Pakistan) provided free services. Free medical treatment and three months’ medicines were provided to more than 400 men, women and children. Patients were apprised about preventive measures against COVID-19, the embassy of Pakistan said in its press release issued on Saturday, March 26.

13 houses gutted in incident of fire  

Thirteen houses have been destroyed in a fire that broke out in a Dalit settlement of Harkatha in Dhankaul Rural Municipality-5 of Sarlahi district on Saturday evening. The fire has caused a loss of around Rs 2.6 million.

School teacher arrested for sexual harassment charge

The Chitwan police have arrested a school teacher on a charge of sexually harassing a girl. Suraj Lamichhane of Madi Municipality-5 in Chitwan district, who teaches at Someshwor Secondary School in Madi, has been accused of sexually abusing a ninth-grader at the same school.

Icefall doctors' team at Everest Base Camp   

A team of eight icefall doctors has reached the base camp to pave the route for mountaineers to the summit of Sagarmatha or Everest. A team led by Angsarki Sherpa, an icefall doctor who has been active in route construction for a long time, has reached the base camp.

Elderly woman drowns

An elderly woman drowned in a well at Madi Municipality-7 in the district. The deceased, Sukamaya Ranabhat, 74, from the locality, who had stepped out of her house today morning, failed to return home, prompting a police search for her, which resulted in the finding of her body afloat in the well near her house.

One person has died in a tractor accident in Baitadi last night. The deceased has been identified as Arjun Tharu, 32, of Thakurdwara Municipality-5, Bardiya.

A man here is alleged of beating her spouse to death. The accused is Kamal Raut, 40, of Birtamod- 5, Jhapa.
