15 injured in scuffle 

At least 15 people were injured when two parties engaged in a scuffle over the land issue at Hatigaun of Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality in Saptari today.

Timber entrepreneurs in the district have been affected badly due to the prolonged lockdown. Surya Chandra Khanal, who runs a furniture industry at Pyuthan Municipality-4, is facing hard times owing to the stay-at-home order.    

  Man hacked to death in Kapilvastu 

A person was hacked to death at Harnampur of Kapilvastu Municipality-9 last night. Police have identified the dead as local Shyam Narayan Tiwari of around 45 years of age.    

Health worker assaulted, critically injured  

A group of three persons has attacked assistant health worker Ramesh Kunwar. Kunwar who works at the Dankot Health Post at Shikhar municipality-9 of the district has sustained serious injuries in the attack. He was assaulted by three people who appeared to be drunk.     Kunwar was going to the health post carrying medical goods.

Lack of isolation wards hits hard COVID-19 risk management in Mahottari   

  Mahottari district has come across a short of isolation wards to deal with increasing number of COVID-19 infected people. Jaleshwor district hospital has possessed a 15-bed isolation ward to deal with 28 infected people admitted to the hospital. Among the infected people, 19 had tested positive for the virus through PCR and nine through RDT.

Ayurvedic drug has been tested in COVID-19 patients receiving treatment at the isolation care of District Hospital here.     The medicine was brought into use as per the protocol developed by the Department of Ayurved and Alternative Medicine Kathmandu to increase the immune system of the patient.   

Earth mound buries 18-year-old in Kailali   

An 18-year-old person died after being buried by a mound of earth here this morning. The District Police Office, Kailali, has identified the deceased as Bhuwan Bohara of Udasi from Gauriganga Municipality-8.    

Fall armyworm outbreak in Bhojpur 

Farmers in Bhojpur are worried after their maize crop has been damaged by an outbreak of fall armyworm, a kind of agricultural pest. The outbreak of the pest has been seen in Temkemaiyung, Pauwadung and Arun rural municipalities of the district.
