300 health workers test COVID positive in Gandaki in three weeks   

As many as 300 health workers, including doctors and nurses have tested positive for coronavirus in merely three weeks in Gandaki province. Mostly the health workers of Paschimanchal Regional Hospital and Infectious Disease Hospital under the Pokhara Health Science Academy – where the coronavirus patients are beingn treated – have been diagnosed with COVID-19.    

Rhino dies falling into trench

Information officer at the Chitwan National Park (CNP) Ganesh Prasad Tiwari informed that the rhino was found dead near Tikauli forest at 3:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. After the female pachyderm of about 10 years was found dead, a technical team was sent to the accident site from CNP.

Property worth Rs 3.5 million gutted in fire  

A fire broke out at a motorcycle repairing center at Sonama Bazaar in Sonama Rural Municipality-1 of Mahottari district last night, causing a loss of Rs 3.5 million.      Motorcycles, motorcycle tires, tubes, tractor tires, tubes, mobil and various spare parts were burnt to ashes in the fire, according to Prakash Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office.

The District Administration Office has suspended other services except the essential ones. The non-essential services have been suspended until further notice after corona virus was detected in the office staffers.

Kailali becoming haven for drug smugglers

People in Upper Dolpa deprived of COVID-19 vaccines 

People in three rural municipalities in Upper Dolpa have been deprived of Covid-19 vaccines though the District Health Service Office has been running the vaccination drive in the lower belts of the district to the students from 12 to 17 years. Similarly, people above 17 years are given Vero Cell vaccine while senior citizens above 60 years are given the booster dose.

A pond has been constructed in the shape of a bottle gourd at Sakelathan in Sakelatol, Triyuga Municipality-11, Udayapur. The Kirat-Rai community there has named the pond “Chindopokhari. Called Chindo in Nepali and Wabu in Rai Chamling language, a bottle gourd carries a cultural significance in the community. Thus the Chindopokhari has been constructed at the cultural site where Sakela is marked by the Rais of the district.
