A division bench of Justices Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Prakash Kumar Dhungana gave the order in the name of the government and the federal parliament to effectively implement the plan by making needed mechanisms within three months.

Priest killed by gunmen in Pakistan attack

Gunmen killed a Christian priest and wounded another as the clerics drove home from church in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar on Sunday, police said. Two attackers on a motorcycle opened fire on the car on the city's ring-road, killing Pastor William Siraj instantly, officers added.

Returnee migrant workers at risk of leprosy  

Leprosy has been detected among those returning from Gulf countries in Jhapa. At least five returnee migrant workers were diagnosed with leprosy in the district from mid-November to mid-December in 2021.

Police post setup in Parbat-Baglung border area

A police post has been established in the bordering area of Baglung and Parbat districts. The temporary police post was brought into operation from Thursday at Maldhunga of Kushma Municipality-1 in Parbat.    

Minister Badu infected with COVID-19

He went for a PCR test on Wednesday after experiencing a problem in his health. Coronavirus infection was found in him through the PCR test, Ministry's information officer Rajaram Dahal said. Minister Badu is in normal health and he will remain in isolation for some days now, Dahal added.

Bhutan trail to open for first time in 60 years

According to the Bhutan Canada Foundation -- the principal donor to the restoration project--, the 250-mile route connects nine dzongkhags (districts), 28 gewogs (local governments), two municipalities, one national park and 400 historic and cultural sites. Travellers who follow the entire trail route will cross 18 major bridges and climb 10,000 stairs. It will be possible to walk or mountain bike.

Two killed in road mishap  

Two persons were killed in a road accident in Ilam district this morning.     The deceased have been identified as Ramesh Thapa, 55, and Surya Bahadur Thapa, 40, of Mechinagar municipality-4 in the district, said Information Officer at the District Police Office, Ganga Bahadur Thapa.

The country is currently under the spell of westerly low-pressure system due to which light rainfall is predicted today.     The Department Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast light rainfall in some places of Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Lumbini provinces as well as in a couple of places in remaining four provinces today.
