Kathmandu, Jan. 21: The district convention of the Nepali Congress under its 14th General Convention which remained to be held in 16 districts have been postponed over COVID-19 risk. The district working committee elections remained to be conducted in these districts.
The NC's Central Election Committee stated through a press release today that the district convention of Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sindhuli, Makawanpur, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Nawalpur, Banke, Kailali, and Achham districts has been put off for now after a surge in the COVID-19 cases.
The district convention in these districts was scheduled for January 29 and it has been suspended for the time being keeping in view the risk to the health safety in the wake of the surge in COVID-19 infection cases, Committee Secretary Keshav Rijal said.
