TRN turns 57

The Rising Nepal is entering the 57th year of its publication on Thursday. The daily was launched on December 16, 1965 as the first broadsheet English daily of Nepal. The daily has served the valued readers by disseminating news and views in a fair manner for 56 years and is committed to continue its service in the years to come. On the occasion of the completion of 56 years of its publication, the daily has published an 8-page special pull out.

Work on Arun 3 moving rapidly

Work on the construction of the 900-megawatt Arun-3 Hydroelectric Project is moving forward at a rapid pace. The Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam claims to be working 24 hours a day and has stated that the work will be completed within the stipulated deadline.

Nepal, Korea sign deal to establish polytechnic institute

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project “Establishment of Polytechnic Institute for Construction Workforce Development in Province 2, Nepal”. Madhu Kumar Marasini, Secretary of MoF and the Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Chong-Suk signed the MoU at the Ministry of Finance, Singha Durbar, today. The Korean Government through KOICA will spend US$ 8.6 million for this project in seven years.

COVID-19 vaccine storage opens in Janakpurdham

Minister for Urban Development, Ramkumari Jhakri and Chief Minister of Province 2, Lalbabu Raut jointly inaugurated the COVID-19 Vaccine Storage House built at Mujeliya in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City on Wednesday. The vaccine storage house was built in coordination with the federal and province governments at a cost of Rs. 7,700,000.

Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has been re-elected in the highest party post. It was a cakewalk for Deuba to get elected in a run-off election held under the party 14th convention on Tuesday after the first round of internal polls became inconclusive.
